Staged to Lived-In

Turning one shoot per property into lived-in, photoreal social content that stays true to the real staging.

Brief

HuggyHomey is a home staging brand in Singapore. Each property gives the team one short window to shoot before it goes to market, with no time or budget for a second visit. The brief was to turn one videography session into a full run of visually engaging Instagram content, using generated imagery to extend what was actually captured on the day.

Problem

A lot of interior content starts with a room generated from scratch, but that would miss the point of HuggyHomey's work. Their product is the staging they physically planned and installed—the furniture, layout, and details—so every image had to stay faithful to the real property while making it feel lived in. The team needed to see that this was possible before anything went live, so we began with a proof of concept built from the original footage.

Approach

The process starts with real footage. Our videographer captures the actual rooms, details, and movement through each staged property, while I build the still imagery from those shots. I add people and everyday moments to the spaces, turning a styled living room from an empty showroom into somewhere that feels genuinely used. Fidelity is the part that takes the most care. Image models like to add their own ideas, so I work back and forth against the original footage, checking the layout, furniture, lighting, and colour at every stage. For people appearing across multiple posts, I build character sheets and use a consistent prompt system so they sit naturally within the real space. We work through LibTV, mainly with Nano Banana 2 and more recently Qwen Image 3 for its stronger fidelity. GPT Image 2 is available too, but we tend to avoid it because of the awkward black gradient watermarking and loss of detail. The workflow has become much faster with each property. Early posts took 150–200 generations each; now we are closer to 80. That leaves more time for the creative decisions and the small details that make each space feel like a home.

Outcome

Six posts are now live on HuggyHomey's Instagram. The proof of concept turned initial hesitation into confidence, and the process has come a long way: we are now making shots that were not realistic for us when we started. The project showed us that generated imagery can be photoreal and still respect the work a client has actually done. For HuggyHomey, that means extending a real staging job rather than inventing an interior from scratch.
